Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager Review: Relaxation at the Push of a Button

Does It Really Relieve Eye Strain and Fatigue?

Bob & Brad Eye Massager

Screen Time = Tired Eyes

Like most of us, I’m sure you can guess, I spend lots of time on screens. Whether it is at work, scrolling social media, or catching up on my favorite series, you can almost guarantee I’m looking at some sort of device screen. This means tired eyes. I recently purchased the Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager to help ease the pain of eye fatigue & dry eye symptoms.

Why I Bought the Bob & Brad Eye Massager

This was my first time using an eye massager. I have no other experience with them. A friend recommended one, and after researching and comparing several models, I narrowed it down to two: the Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager and the Renpho Eyeris 3 Golden.

Here, I’m sharing my experience with the Bob & Brad model. After lots of comparison and a crazy rabbit hole of research, I settled on two different products. Here is a breakdown of my experience with this eye massager.

Lack of Reviews Made Me Cautious

After multiple web searches, I came up lacking any real reviews or information outside of the Bod & Brad website. This made me extremely nervous. I had no other choice but to finally reach out to the manufacturer directly. I was very sceptical about purchasing this model, with so little to go on.

They replied to my email and told me this model had just been released, and they didn’t have any reviews except for a few on Amazon. I combed through the reviews on Amazon for any clues to the quality of this product.

I ended up ordering the product from Amazon rather than the manufacturer’s website due to the price difference.

💰Price Comparison

From the Bob & Brad website, I could see that this eye massager was priced at $149.99, which was about $20 more than the Amazon price of $129.99. But I felt like I could not pull the trigger on this purchase just yet.

Thanks to waiting to order after hearing back from the company, the price dropped on Amazon. Moreover, the price drop on Amazon made this product significantly cheaper than purchasing directly on the Bob & Brad website.

Amazon’s price was $79.99 (originally $129.99—caught it on sale!)

Renpho Eyeris 3 Golden was $69.99 at the time of purchase.

First Impressions & Unboxing

After unboxing the eye massager, I immediately noticed how sleek and small it seemed compared to the other eye massager I purchased. The cushion did not seem very thick, but the scroll button was cool. Not going to lie, I was nervous to try because I didn’t know what to expect, but excited to try something new. I must say this model does seem like a quality product.

I found that this unit comes with a hard storage case. This is awesome, as I travel a lot and will be extremely useful in protecting it from damage. The massager also charged fairly quickly. It also came with a cooling gel pack that you can put in the fridge or freezer for a cool compress.

Product Usage

First use, I found the navigation was very easy with the scroll button. After playing around with the settings, I found I was easily able to change them due to the scroller. One of the first things I noticed after turning the eye massager on was a very heavy pressure on the bridge of my nose. I don’t have a large nose or face, and this was very painful. I constantly tried to adjust it to get a better fit. The band that goes around your head is very easy to adjust, and you just have to play around with it to get a perfect fit.

The built-in music or sounds were ok, nothing spectacular. I did notice the sound quality was far superior on this model compared to the other unit. I also noticed that this unit is extremely quiet. At just 35dB, you can fall asleep wearing this. The other product I tried was not this quiet; the more I use it, the more noticeable it becomes.

Both massagers traveled with me on multiple trips. They stay at my bedside at home since I use them most nights before bed. I have found that I prefer no sound while I am wearing the unit. I have tried wearing it while sitting up and lying down; either way works, and I don’t notice a huge difference in position. I will say that at first I did not notice a huge difference in the weight of this massager as compared to the other one. The more I use this massager, the more I notice the weight difference. It doesn’t feel as bulky and heavy as compared to the other unit. This product weighs in at only 0.6lbs.

💡 Features I Liked

  • Lightweight (0.6 lbs): Noticeably more comfortable than bulkier models
  • Scroll Wheel Control: Easy, intuitive, and better than touch buttons
  • Built-in Heat Therapy: Soothing and helps with dry eyes
  • Quiet Operation (35 dB): Doesn’t disturb rest or sleep
  • Good Battery Life + USB-C charging
  • FSA/HSA Eligible
  • Bluetooth Capability with decent sound quality

👎 What Needs Improvement

  • Uncomfortable Nose Fit: Heavy pressure on the bridge of my nose made it hard to relax initially
  • No Option to Isolate Eye or Temple Massage: A missing basic feature
  • Loud “Goodbye” Voice at End: Wakes me up after I fall asleep—super frustrating
  • Bluetooth Turns Off Automatically: Music/audiobooks stop abruptly when the massage ends
  • Temple Massage Positioning: Doesn’t align well for everyone; could be face-shape dependent
  • No Memory Or Last Session Recall: Doesn’t remember your last setting so you have to setup new every time.

✅ Pros vs. ❌ Cons Summary

✅ Pros:

  • Lightweight and travel-friendly
  • Great heating function
  • Easy-to-use scroll button
  • High-quality audio
  • Very quiet (great for bedtime)
  • Comes with a durable hard case
  • Good battery life
  • FSA/HSA eligible

❌ Cons:

  • Poor nose bridge comfort
  • Ability to just massage temples or eyes only
  • Lacks selective massage modes (eye only or temple only)
  • No voice control, though I could argue that the scrolling is so easy, this may not be needed.
  • Loud voice prompt at session end
  • Bluetooth audio cuts off after the session
  • May not fit larger faces comfortably
  • Have to find your most used setting every time

🔬 Long-Term Use: My Thoughts

After multiple weeks and trips with both the Bob & Brad and the Renpho eye massagers, I found myself reaching for the Bob & Brad more often. Despite its flaws, it feels like a more premium product, especially in terms of comfort, quiet operation, and heating quality.

I also noticed that using the heat setting nightly helps with my dry eyes and puffiness. The skin around my eyes looks more refreshed, and my eyes tend to tear up naturally—something I hadn’t experienced before using this device.

Final Thoughts on the eye massager:

I think the Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager is a strong contender in the eye massager market. I tend to reach for it more than the other product I tried. I do feel that Bob & Brad dropped the ball on this product. They had multiple versions to get it right and still fell short. You would think that being able to only massage temples or eyes would be a pretty basic feature.

Also, their website says it is “Ultra-Quiet Relaxation,” while this may be true, it basically throws that out the window when you are jolted awake by a voice telling you goodbye. I feel this is completely unnecessary; anyone can guess the massager is off when it stops or the music turns off. Which brings me to my next issue regarding the Bluetooth capabilities.

Once the unit has completed the massage session, it turns the entire unit off, which means your music turns off also. I would love to listen to an audiobook or at least finish my song before it shuts off completely. There should be an override that, when you are Bluetoothed to the device, you manually turn the unit off to stop the sound.

I have found that the heat makes my eyes seem to produce tears. It seems to be helping my dry eyes. It also makes the skin around my eyes smooth.

📝 Final Verdict: Is the Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager Worth It?

Overall, the Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager is a solid choice for anyone suffering from eye fatigue, dry eyes, or digital strain. It’s quiet, lightweight, well-built, and comes with helpful features like Bluetooth and heat therapy.

However, it does miss the mark on a few basic features, especially for its original price point. If you can snag it on sale (as I did), it becomes a much better value.

Overall, this is definitely a product you should consider when you are in the market for an eye massager. Will I keep it? I’ll likely keep this eye massager as I think it is a quality product. When comparing it to the other product I tried, I did feel these stood out in other areas, even with the lack of basic features. I wish they would correct the basic issues and maybe offer a discount to repeat customers or option to upgrade if this happens.

Would I recommend it?

Yes—with caveats. It’s not perfect, but it delivers real relief, and with a few tweaks, it could be one of the best eye massagers on the market.

I think this is a product that may not work for everyone, and that each person needs to make up their mind about it. What I think is most valuable in this product may not be an issue to someone else. I hope this review gives you a bit more information to make an informed decision.
